Mark Ryden est né aux Etats-Unis en 1963 à Medford en Oregon, rnais grandit au sud de la Californie où il poursuit ses études à "I'Art Center College of Design" à Pasadena. Ses peintures déclenchent irnrnédiatement une sorte de déjà vu déformé rappellant les univers enchantés des livres d'enfants des années 1950. Les travaux de Ryden sont des arnalgames subtils de beauté visuelle, dans un rnonde intrigant, troublant, ernbarrassant, étrange et inquietant, où des lapins joyeux et rayonnants, qui sortent tout droit des livres de Lewis Carroll, vont plutôt tailler des tranches de viande, que gambader dans la forêt. Les peintures de Mark sont très prisées par des collectionneurs de renorn. Quelques-uns de ses clients incluent Stephen King, Leonardo DiCaprio, Patrick Leonard, Danny Elfrnan, Kirk Harnrnett, Paul Leary, Chris Carter, Don Was, Kidada Jones, Bridget Fonda, Henry Selik et Ie célèbre "anti-nabab" Long Gone John. Actuellernent, Mark peint dans les hauts d'un château rnagique à Pasadena en Californie. Mark Ryden was born in the United States in 1963 - in Medford, Oregon - but grew up in Southern California and studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. His paintings which instantly trigger a warped deja vu recall the enchanted universes of children's books published in the 1950s. Ryden works are subtle amalgams of visual beauty in an intriguing, Unsettling, embarrassing, strange and worrying world, where cheery bunnies - which seem to come straight out of Lewis Carroll's books - are more likely to be slicing joints of meat than frolicking in the forest. Mark's paintings are treasured by famous collectors. His clients include Stephen King, Leonardo DiCaprio, Patrick Leonard, Danny Elfman, Kirk Hammett, Paul Leary, Chris Carter, Don Was, Kidada Jones, Bridget Fonda, Henry Selik, and the famous "anti-mogul" Long Gone John. Currently, Mark paints high atop a magic castle in Pasadena, California. You can find him late at night in his studio among his many trinkets, statues, skeletons, saints and old toys that he collects for inspiration.
